ABOUT

Devon got her first rabbit at a very young age that she believes to be around the age of four as she vaguely remembers these rabbits. She only remembers that one time they were running around on her parents beds, and that they were evil. Unfortunately rabbits did not work out then. Just before her 12th birthday Devon became obsessed with having her own pet. She settled on Red Eyed Tree Frogs, her parents weren't so keen on the idea. Then, by some random twist of fate her mother found a 24X24 wire rabbit cage on the side of the road (and yes she found it, however it did not have a tray so her dad made one). So for Devon's 12th birthday she received a Mini Rex she named Ginger, she states she originally wanted Dutch.

However Devon Made do with her Mini Rex Ginger. Two weeks later Ginger had 3 supremely ugly babies much to everyone's surprise, and shortly after that another cage was purchased at a neighbour's garage sale. A month after receiving Ginger Devon went to the Barrie fair and there was a black Mini Rex buck for sale that she just had to have, she threw a temper tantrum and used $20.00 of her own money and bought him. This was National Velvet's Zorro and the start of Devon's journey into rabbits.

Devon has won many awards with her rabbits including numerous Best in Shows, and Youth Breeder of the Year awards (6 years in a row). Devon is no longer a Youth Breeder anymore and although she still has Mini Rex and has dabbled in other small breeds she found that she enjoys the larger rabbits and has settled on the heritage breed Argente Bruns as her main focus in rabbits.

Devon is currently a Director and Webmaster for the Dominion Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association, and occasionally judges youth shows as well.
